Totally agree! Compare the materials and workmanship of the Biltmore House with ANY neo-Gothic monstrosity of the nouveau riche to understand the difference. Money will never supplant taste.
Excellent analysis of this “composition”. Anyone who cares for thoughtful architecture will lament the missed opportunities and wasted money for this ostentatious structure… but I especially connect with the language! “Acne on a teenage boy” and “justified wrath” - so apropos.
